Updating "Tie-Dye" : Ombre

We have all come to know the term "ombre", and have definitely seen its prominence in current hair styles ( you know, darker at the roots and lighter at the ends). But recently I have noticed its emergence into home decor and accessories.  People are playing up the Ombre effect in brightly colored hues and it definitely makes a statement.  While the effect is created often with different shades of a similar color, some looks are achieved with a good old fashioned tie dye.  Proof that all trends circle back around.

Seafoam blue/green accent wall, for just a splash of ombre.

 Ombre stair case in coral...

 or teal.

Then there is the ombre furniture pieces in a little more neutral tones,
metallic shades...

 and shades of gray.
And for my very favorite ombre showing, this dining area!
The floor to ceiling drapes are so elegant in this clean and crisp space.
For those who like the look but aren't quite ready to commit, an ombre tablescape is a great place to begin.  This tablecloth would be so easy to DIY using a good ol tie dye technique.

Loving the color transition of this floral centerpiece!

And what could provide a better "pop" of ombre than a throw pillow, achieving the look with a simple and cost effective option.
and for an even easier "ombre" look, monochromatic books stacked on shelves or tables.

Until next time,
libby
